Communications Specialist (Part-Time, Remote)

About STEP:

The Swallowing Training and Education Portal (STEP) is a global online learning platform dedicated to advancing education and training in swallowing disorders (dysphagia). We empower and educate clinicians through high-quality, innovative educational resources.

Job Opportunity:

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Communications Specialist to support our email communications and social media presence. This is a part-time, remote role — approximately 10 - 20 hours per month, with opportunities to expand responsibilities over time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and schedule email communications to our members and community.

  • Support STEP’s social media posting, scheduling, and engagement (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn).

  • Maintain consistent voice, tone, and branding across all communications.

  • Help organize a simple content calendar for social posts and email campaigns.

  • Provide occasional support with community engagement tasks 

Compensation: $20 per hour

  • Are obsessive about attention to detail
  • Have strong written communication skills 
  • Have the ability to work remotely without direct supervision 
  • Have experience using Instagram and Facebook for digital marketing 
  • Are reliable and responsive

    to help improve the lives of individuals living with swallowing disorders.
  • Training / experience in speech-language pathology is preferred, but not required for this position.
